| | Riviera Nautic is at the mouth of Chinaman's Creek, so named because in 1800s, a Chinese community grew vegetables here, and dried fish where the Metung Yacht Club now stands. The food was taken (by foot!) twice weekly to their compatriots in the Omeo goldfields.
From Riviera Nautic, there is a boardwalk around the edge of Bancroft Bay into the village. A lovely way to start your holiday - stroll into Metung for dinner, and return under a star-hung sky. The boardwalk is lit at night.
There's a public jetty towards the top of the creek, and a small beach where you can moor. Across the road from the jetty there is a short walking track up a hill. From the top you get a great view of Metung. | | |
