|Riviera Nautic is at the mouth of Chinaman's Creek, so named because in 1800s, a Chinese community grew vegetables here, and dried fish where the Metung Yacht Club now stands. The food was taken (by foot!) twice weekly to their compatriots in the Omeo goldfields.|
From Riviera Nautic, there is a boardwalk around the edge of Bancroft Bay into the village. A lovely way to start your holiday - stroll into Metung for dinner, and return under a star-hung sky. The boardwalk is lit at night.
There's a public jetty towards the top of the creek, and a small beach where you can moor. Across the road from the jetty there is a short walking track up a hill. From the top you get a great view of Metung.
