| | While these are no longer blowholes in the conventional understanding of the word, they once were openings in the dunes, caused by large volumes of water coming down the rivers. Now they are distinguished by the dip in the dunes and the corresponding recurved sand spit extending into the Bunga Arm. The sandspits act as a natural wave breaker, making the blowholes reasonably safe havens for mooring.
With care, Riviera Nautic's yachts and cruisers can go as far as the 1st blowhole. It's about 20 minutes steaming east of the Steamer Landing along the Bunga Arm.
