A Woman's View
|Says Wendy Prince, one of our regular guests: 'It's always fabulous, and it's always better than remembered!'|
In our experience, it's often the women who return from their first venture on the water really excited about the experience. Perhaps this is because their apprehension was the greater, and the ease and total relaxation came as more of a surprise.
We have a 67 per cent repeat business rate. As nearly 50 per cent of our guests are women, there must be something special that keeps them coming back!
Handling a boat is incredibly easy once you master a few basics (perhaps the guys have tried to keep us ignorant about just how easy it is!). Driving a cruiser is easy - you just point it in the right direction and go. Even docking at a jetty is easy once you get the hang of where the wind is coming from. We show you all this at the start of your holiday.
And then there's sailing. It's not the guerilla kind of sailing you see on the America's Cup boats: holiday sailing is blissfully peaceful. When the engine is turned off and the sails take over you'll understand why people fall in love with sailing for life.
It's really easy to keep a boat shipshape, and with restaurants dotted around the Lakes, you needn't cook a meal. Although if you're keen on cooking, preparing 'boat' food can be really creative.
Living on board a boat gives you a unbeatable feeling of freedom. Let your hair down! You'll be amazed to find you can live without a blow-wave dryer and hot rollers. Wear your designer tshirt for two days in a row, and drink red wine from a tumbler. You can linger for ages over breakfast, go to bed at 8.30 pm, spend an hour dragging your toes through wet sand, or a whole day devouring a good book.
Behind the scenes, there's a team of people at Riviera Nautic making sure your holiday is as seamlessly effortless as possible - not intrusive, but always there if you need us.
This service applies from the moment you enquire about a holiday, right through the planning, and around the clock while you're on the water.
