"Rigby" Traditional Lakes Boat

Rigby was built on the Gippsland Lakes in the 1940’s of New Zealand Kauri timber. She was built in traditional methods representative of the Lakes fishing boats of the day, although Rigby was used for many years to tansfer livestock, mainly sheep, between Paynesville, Ocean Grange and Sperm Whale Head.

Today, she is a wonderfully nostalgic way to explore this waterway that she has called home for over 70 years.

Licenced to carry up to a maximum of 8 people (regardless of age). No boat licence required. Minimum hire 4 hours during peak holiday periods, 2 hours all other times.
