Booking a Boating Holiday
Booking a boating holiday is easy! Follow these 5 simple steps.
1. Choose your boat
Find the boat that is just right for you and your crew. Visit Our Fleet >>
2. Book your holiday and confirm it with a deposit
Contact Us >> to check availability for your preferred dates and then confirm your booking with a $600 deposit. The deposit is due within 7 days of making your booking. Payments can be made by bank transfer or by credit card over the phone.
Once you have paid your deposit we will send you your Charter Agreement which confirms the boat, times and cost of your boating holiday. Please check that all the details are correct.
3. Start planning and order extras
Here’s some great tools:
4. Pay your balance and return your signed charter agreement
The balance needs to be paid by the due date shown on the Charter Agreement letter (which is emailed to you once the deposit is paid).
If you pay your deposit over the phone by credit card, we will hold your credit card details and, with your permission, debit the balance on the due date. You may also choose to pay by direct bank transfer – please contact us if you would like our bank details.
We don’t normally issue a receipt at this point. A full tax invoice will be available to you at the end of your holiday.
Security Bond
You pay the Security Bond when you arrive for your holiday using credit card (pre-authorisation). The Bond is refundable providing you return the boat in good condition at the end of your holiday. Please read the details about security bonds, insurance and damage in the Terms and Conditions of Charter >>.
Cancellation Insurance
We recommend you consider taking holiday insurance against the need to cancel.
5. Have the holiday of lifetime!
Some details that will help…
Office Hours:
Monday to Saturday: 8:30am to 5pm; Sunday 10am to 5pm
First Night Aboard – board after 6pm first night free:
As your boarding time is normally after 6 pm (it doesn’t matter how late you arrive), we will leave a jetty plan on the office door directing you to your boat in our marina. The lights will be on and there’ll be a welcome note on the cabin door, with your name so you’ll know you’ve boarded the right boat. If your boarding time is in the morning, we will be here to welcome you aboard.
Boardings after 6 pm are offered as a FREE ‘night before’, to stay on the boat at our marina (we don’t do briefings at this time). This is a good time to get the feel of boating, to look at the map and read the manual. This preparation really helps with your briefing the next morning. You’ll find a briefing checklist on board, which we ask you to complete Part A of (identifying the location of emergency equipment, etc) before your briefing.
Eating Out:
You might like to eat out on this first evening. Metung Village is just 2 km away, and there you’ll find restaurants and a hotel. It’s an easy walk along the boardwalk into the village, and the boardwalk is lit at night.
Your First Morning Aboard:
Enjoy a slow, relaxed start to your holiday, then, when you’re ready, come to our office and we’ll finish the paperwork. Then we’ll do a map and boat briefing. This is your holiday and the briefing will be done at your pace. Please feel free to ask as many questions as you wish – it all contributes to the fun and relaxation you’ll experience on your Wonderful Boating Holiday. For your safety, and to comply with maritime legislation, we must ensure that you fully understand about the safety provisions, navigation and operation of the boat.
The Last Day:
The finish time of your holiday is shown on the Charter Agreement, usually 3 pm. Because we often have to prepare your boat for the next guests’ boarding that evening, we ask you to please make sure you are completely unloaded by this time.
